About the role
Mainframe Services team at Kyndryl manages mission-critical mainframe environments for global clients. The role designs, implements and supports z/OS infrastructure, including system programming, upgrades, security and performance optimization. Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai locations with on-site work model.
What you’ll do
- Lead z/OS system programming initiatives
- Design resilient mainframe infrastructure
- Manage upgrades, migrations and SMP/E processes
- Oversee core components like JES, storage, networking
- Support enterprise subsystems CICS, DB2, IMS, MQ
- Drive automation, performance and capacity optimization
- Resolve critical incidents and perform root cause analysis
- Mentor team members and drive modernization efforts
What you’ll bring
- 7+ years IBM z/OS system programming
- SMP/E installation and maintenance
- JES2/JES3 administration
- Mainframe storage and networking expertise
- CICS, DB2, IMS, MQ subsystem support
- Performance tuning and capacity planning
- Security administration on z/OS
- Scripting with Shell, REXX or CLIST
