About the role
Mainframe Services team at Kyndryl drives mission-critical mainframe modernization for global clients. The System Administrator leads z/OS system programming, designs resilient infrastructure, manages upgrades, automation and security compliance, and mentors staff while handling critical incidents. Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai, India – on-site work model, relocation available.
What you’ll do
- Lead z/OS system programming initiatives
- Design scalable mainframe infrastructure
- Handle upgrades, migrations, SMP/E maintenance
- Manage JES, storage, networking components
- Support CICS, DB2, IMS, MQ subsystems
- Drive automation and performance optimization
- Resolve critical incidents and perform RCA
- Ensure security, compliance and SLA adherence
- Collaborate with teams, vendors, stakeholders
- Mentor team members and drive modernization
What you’ll bring
- 7+ years IBM z/OS system programming
- SMP/E installation and maintenance
- JES2/JES3 administration
- Mainframe storage and networking
- CICS, DB2, IMS, MQ support
- Performance tuning and capacity planning
- Root cause analysis for critical incidents
- Scripting with Shell, REXX or CLIST
