Mainframe MVS / z/OS System Administrator

About the role

Kyndryl Mainframe Services team drives mission-critical mainframe modernization for global enterprises. As a System Administrator you will lead z/OS system programming, design resilient mainframe infrastructure, manage upgrades, migrations, SMP/E, and support core components like JES, CICS, DB2, IMS, and MQ while ensuring security, compliance, and SLA adherence. Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Noida, India – on-site work at client locations.

What you’ll do

• Lead z/OS system programming initiatives
• Design scalable mainframe infrastructure
• Handle upgrades, migrations, and SMP/E maintenance
• Manage core components: JES, storage, networking
• Support CICS, DB2, IMS, and MQ subsystems
• Drive automation, performance, and capacity optimization
• Resolve critical incidents and perform root cause analysis
• Ensure security, compliance, and SLA adherence

What you’ll bring

• 7+ years IBM z/OS system programming
• SMP/E installation and maintenance
• JES2/JES3 administration
• Mainframe storage and networking expertise
• CICS, DB2, IMS, MQ support
• Performance tuning and capacity planning
• Root cause analysis for critical incidents
• Scripting with Shell, REXX, or CLIST
