About the role
Worldwide Clinical Trials is a global midsize CRO advancing clinical research to help cure persistent diseases. The IT Systems Administrator in Trivandrum oversees regional office IT needs, providing first-line user support and managing local servers, network hardware/software, security, backup/restore, connectivity, and telecommunications. The role also handles hardware/software ordering, setup, and stock control for the office, satellite offices, and home-based users, and may support remote employees and smaller satellite offices.
What you’ll do
- Maintain computer network connectivity (hardware and software) and reconfigure as required to meet evolving company needs
- Monitor and maintain systems security, software updates/upgrades, and systems resources (hard disk space, logs, memory utilization, bandwidth usage, internet speed, etc.) including Active Directory, f
- Perform hardware maintenance (upgrades/replacements), new hardware deployment, and decommission directly or in conjunction with a 3rd party vendor under warranty programme
- Maintain system software for Windows environment; install and maintain commercial application packages for data management, word processing, statistical analysis, accounting, and desktop publishing; a
- Plan, perform, and optimize backup & restore of systems and participate in organizing disaster recovery plans
- Source, purchase, and install appropriate computer equipment as directed by the line manager
- Assist other IT staff with deployment, maintenance, and support of systems and software in the local office or other remote locations
- Travel to other offices and visit home-based users when remote support solutions are insufficient to solve IT issues
What you’ll bring
- Technical College or Bachelor degree of Higher Technical education
- 5+ years of operating system/LAN management experience and support
- Advanced knowledge of server hardware and software (Windows 2003, SQL, VMWare, remote control tools, Exchange 2003/2007, backup and antivirus)
- Excellent working knowledge of ghosting & synchronization software (WDS/SCCM)
- Microsoft operating systems (MS Office Suite 2007) and other software applications such as antivirus, remote support tools, Adobe, etc.
- Setup and troubleshooting of internet connectivity and related hardware (ADSL/3G, etc.)
- Blackberry devices and BES
- Excellent English, written and spoken
