About the role
Procurement Professional – Associate Commodity Manager and Supply Chain Analyst role at Trimble. Responsible for driving global commodity management activities, ensuring supply continuity for TNL factories and contract manufacturers, and supporting demand upsides. Leads cost‑reduction initiatives, tracks savings, and presents results to executive management. Builds executive‑level supplier relationships, manages executive reviews and scorecards, and implements tools/processes to improve GCMT performance, efficiency, and value. Supports GCM team in closing supply chain shortages and driving cost‑reduction projects. Manages assigned commodities across multiple geographies, collaborates with Design Engineering and Program teams to develop sourcing strategies that optimize cost and meet time‑to‑market, time‑to‑cost, and performance requirements. Leads cross‑functional projects, resources or dual‑sources critical procurement materials, and develops negotiation and contract management skills (pricing negotiations, supply agreements, LTAs, BALs, buffer, material float, SOW/Development Agreements). Ensures supply chain flexibility, identifies risks, and implements contingency plans (die banks, buffer stock agreements, VMI programs). Monitors financial stability of supply base, supports other Commodity Managers with negotiations, RFQs, data analytics, and expedites, and evaluates new suppliers to meet future technical needs. Contributes to evaluating, developing, and implementing new supply chain tools and processes, including data consolidation and reporting in Cognos, SmartSheets, and other databases.
What you’ll do
- Ensures continuity of supply for TNL factories and Contract Manufacturers to meet scheduled build requirements and supports demand upsides.
- Drives cost reduction with supply base to meet quarterly and annual targets, tracks savings, and presents results to executive management.
- Develops and nurtures key supplier relationships at executive level, leads and supports managing executive reviews and score card cadence.
- Identifies, develops, evaluates and implements tools/processes to improve GCMT performance, efficiency and value.
- Provides support to GCM Team to close critical supply chain shortages and drive cost reduction projects.
- Manages assigned commodities to support Trimble’s products sourced and manufactured in multiple geographies, ensuring supplier performance meets all Trimble requirements.
- Collaborates with Design Engineering and Program teams to support new designs; develops sourcing strategies to optimize cost and ensure supply continuity while meeting Time to Market, Time to Cost and performance requirements.
- Manages key projects from kick-off to implementation; leads cross-functional teams to resource or dual source critical procurement materials aligning with GCM global sourcing strategies.
- Develops negotiation and contract management skills including pricing negotiations, supply agreements, LTAs, BALs, buffer, material float, and SOW/Development Agreements.
- Ensures supply chain flexibility, identifies potential risks to production, and implements contingency support plans including die banks, buffer stock agreements, and VMI programs.
- Monitors financial stability of assigned supply base, identifies potential risks, and develops contingency plans to ensure uninterrupted continuity of supply.
- Supports other Commodity Managers with tasks such as negotiations, RFQs, data analytics and expedites.
- Identifies and evaluates new suppliers to support future technical needs, capacity requirements, and optimize total cost.
- Serves as key contributor to evaluate, develop and implement new supply chain tools/processes to improve team efficiency and results.
- Provides support for GCM team compiling, consolidating, and analyzing data for initiatives like supplier forecasting, buffer stock analysis, RFQ preparation and negotiations.
- Represents GCM Team in a “Super User” role for Cognos, SmartSheets, and other databases, consolidating critical cost, inventory and supply/demand data across multiple internal and external supply chains; collaborates with GCMs and SQEs to develop, debug, and implement new tools and reports.
What you’ll bring
- 5+ years progressive experience in Purchasing and Supply Chain.
- Background in Operations, Direct Procurement, and Commodity Management supporting PLC from NPI to EOL.
