Associate Procurement Professional

About the role

Caterpillar Inc.'s Procurement career area seeks an Associate Procurement Professional to support purchasing, supply chain, sourcing, cost and price analyses, and contract/purchase order generation. Day-to-day work includes developing improvement plans for buyers, performing process analysis and maintenance, supporting customer proposals with pricing and supplier selection, and executing analytical and administrative tasks for strategic purchasing initiatives. This full-time, on-site role is based in Bangalore, Karnataka, requires five working days per week in the office, and offers relocation assistance.

What you’ll do

• Develop improvement plans to support buyers and professionals related to Response Time, Lean Targets, Quality, Cost, Logistics, Development, and Management (QCLDM)
• Perform analysis and maintenance of assigned processes to produce output excellence and contribute to continuous improvement efforts
• Support customers and customer proposal efforts with pricing information and supplier selection
• Perform analytical and administrative tasks in support of purchasing strategic initiatives
• Process requisitions and provide support for purchasing, supply chain, sourcing, cost, and price analyses
• Support contract and purchase order generation

What you’ll bring

• Bachelor's degree from a Tier 1 University or College, or equivalent experience
• Basic understanding of data-driven decision-making processes and tools
• Basic understanding of analytical thinking techniques and tools
• Working knowledge of effective communication concepts and techniques
• Basic understanding of project management strategies and tactics
• Basic understanding of procurement and institutional purchasing concepts
• Basic understanding of a specific procurement system's features and functions
• Basic understanding of purchasing tasks, activities, and logistics management
