Procurement Senior Para-Professional

About the role

Procurement team at Hitachi Energy drives strategic sourcing and supplier management to support global operations. The Senior Para-Professional develops procurement strategies, negotiates contracts, manages vendor relationships, and collaborates with Operations, Finance and Production to align purchasing with business goals. Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, hybrid work model with occasional travel to supplier sites.

What you’ll do

• Develop and execute procurement strategies aligned with company objectives
• Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to secure advantageous conditions
• Maintain strong vendor relationships and evaluate performance on price, quality and delivery
• Manage inventory levels to optimize turnover and reduce holding costs
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with Operations, Finance and Production to understand procurement needs
• Process requisitions and purchase orders accurately and timely
• Prepare procurement reports and updates for stakeholders

What you’ll bring

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Supply Chain or related field
• Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP) or Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) preferred
• 5+ years procurement experience, including 2+ years in senior role
• Strong negotiation and communication skills
• Proficiency with SAP, Ariba or similar procurement ERP systems
• Analytical skills for cost analysis and supplier evaluation
• Detail‑oriented problem solving
