About the role
The Team Lead - India Accounts at Medline India (Pune) manages accounting operations, ensures statutory compliance, drives month-end close activities, and leads a team of accounting professionals. Day-to-day work includes leading close cycles, reviewing journal entries and reconciliations, preparing financial reports, coordinating audits and tax compliance, and partnering with procurement, HR, tax, treasury, and FP&A stakeholders. The role is based in Pune and follows a hybrid work model.
What you’ll do
- Lead and manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
- Review journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and provisions.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records in compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
- Monitor general ledger activities and resolve accounting issues on a timely basis.
- Prepare management reports and financial analysis.
- Ensure timely compliance with GST, TDS, Income Tax, Companies Act, and other statutory requirements.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accountants, including allocating responsibilities and monitoring performance.
- Drive process standardization, automation, and efficiency initiatives while strengthening internal controls.
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor's Degree in Commerce, Finance, or Accounting.
- 8-10 years of experience in accounting and finance operations.
- Strong knowledge of Indian GAAP, GST, TDS, Income Tax, and statutory compliance.
- Experience in ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or Dynamics.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and leadership capabilities.
- Ability to manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
- Experience coordinating statutory auditors, tax consultants, and internal auditors.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Nice to have
- CA / CMA / MBA Finance preferred.
