Principal Security Engineer

About the role

Business Security Enablement ONE team at Mastercard builds security into all applications and AI platforms. The Principal Security Engineer advises product and operational teams, designs secure architectures, and leads security reviews across cloud, DevOps, and AI services. Pune, India, on-site work model, relocation assistance available.

What you’ll do

• Provide risk advisory and security consultation for AI‑enabled platforms
• Embed security early in SDLC and guide secure code practices
• Lead security design for cloud, IaaS/PaaS, and container environments
• Develop and promote secure AI service usage and automation
• Drive security‑first culture and responsible AI awareness
• Collaborate on automation and AI‑assisted security reviews
• Evaluate and recommend secure design patterns for data, identity, and AI
• Present technical and business security guidance to stakeholders

What you’ll bring

• 7-10 years progressive security experience
• CISSP or equivalent security certification
• Expert knowledge of security protocols and cloud-native architectures
• Hands‑on Linux hardening and scripting automation
• Secure coding and application security expertise
• Design and implementation of cryptographic controls
• Experience with AI/ML model security and data protection
• Strong communication and stakeholder influence
