About the role
KBR Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) designs and delivers advanced piping layout solutions for energy and process assets. The Senior Layout Engineer creates unit plot plans, optimizes layouts, prepares material take‑offs, and reviews vendor packages while guiding junior designers. Based in Chennai, India, on‑site role with occasional field visits.
What you’ll do
- Develop unit plot plans and equipment layouts for platforms and refineries
- Conduct layout optimisation studies and prepare material take‑offs
- Review and assess vendor package submissions
- Guide and mentor junior designers in layout best practices
- Perform ISO checking and support ISO team requirements
What you’ll bring
- Diploma in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
- 10-15 years piping layout experience
- Proficiency in E3D, AutoCAD, MicroStation, MS Office
- Experience with Fixed Platform/FPSO projects
- Knowledge of mechanical handling and support selection
- Ability to develop and review vendor packages
- Strong communication and mentorship skills
- Familiarity with PML macro development
