Technical Team Leader - DevOps and DevSecOps

Bengaluru, Karnataka, India Full-time On-site

About the role

BETSOL is engineering the AI-powered enterprise, accelerating cloud transformation for enterprises across 17+ countries through AI and cloud-native solutions. As Technical Team Leader - DevOps & DevSecOps, you will lead a technical pod of full-stack DevOps/DevSecOps engineers in a player-coach role, staying hands-on in code, architecture, and pipelines while setting technical direction, running design and code reviews, and acting as project manager. You will own end-to-end architecture across infrastructure, CI/CD, and application layers for cloud portal workloads on Azure and GCP, champion AI-first development practices, and embed DevSecOps governance. Based in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, this full-time role requires US Eastern Time working hours (Monday-Friday, 6PM IST - 3 AM IST) with flexibility for incident response and global coordination.

What you’ll do

  • Own end-to-end architecture across infrastructure, CI/CD, and application layers for cloud portal workloads on Azure and GCP
  • Drive systems-level design: trade-off analysis, reference architectures, reusable Terraform/Ansible/Helm patterns, and platform conventions
  • Run code reviews and design reviews; set the quality bar and definition of done
  • Stay hands-on: contribute IaC modules, pipeline logic, and application code (roughly 80% technical, 20% team management)
  • Champion AI-first development practices: model-assisted coding, prompt and context discipline, agentic workflows in IDEs and CI, and review of AI-generated output for security and correctness
  • Run the pod as project manager: sprint planning, standups, retrospectives, status reporting to BETSOL and client stakeholders
  • Lead release management, change control, and post-incident reviews
  • Embed security, compliance (FedRAMP, FIPS, CIS, ISO, PCI), and observability standards into every delivery; partner with client security teams on threat modeling and audit response

What you’ll bring

  • 8+ years in software engineering or platform engineering, with at least 2 years leading a delivery team of 3+ engineers
  • Hands-on coding within the last 12 months required
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience
  • Deep cloud architecture experience on Azure (preferred), AWS, or GCP (AKS/GKE, App Gateway, VNets, NSGs, Key Vault, Managed Identities, IAM, networking)
  • Strong with Terraform, Helm, Kubernetes, and reusable module design
  • CI/CD pipeline design with Jenkins or GitHub Actions including blue/green, canary, and rollback strategies
  • DevSecOps: SAST/DAST/SCA tooling, container and image scanning, supply chain security, secrets/cert/key management with vault solutions
  • Excellent written and verbal English; comfortable in US-EST hour stakeholder conversations

Nice to have

  • Proven experience as technical architect or technical lead
  • Scripting in Bash, Python, or PowerShell
  • Practical experience with AI-first development: working daily with AI coding assistants, building or governing agentic dev workflows, reviewing AI output for quality and security
  • Observability with Prometheus, Grafana, Azure Monitor, Google Cloud Monitoring, DataDog, Log Analytics; SLO/SLI/error-budget practice
  • Familiarity with security frameworks such as FedRAMP, FIPS, CIS Benchmarks, ISO, PCI
  • Calm, structured communication with both engineers and non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong problem-solving and systems thinking
  • Ownership mindset and clear accountability for outcomes
