Branch Head

About the role

The Branch Head at Axis Bank Ltd. in Gurugram oversees all branch operations, implements strategies to drive productivity and meet financial targets, and ensures compliance with banking regulations. Day-to-day duties include managing daily lending, product sales, and customer service; planning and executing branch growth with the Cluster Head; strengthening relationships with top customers; reviewing daily reports; ensuring audit and compliance deliverables; fostering a performance-oriented, well-trained team; and liaising with the cluster office and other branches. The role requires 8–12 years of experience in the BFSI sector.

What you’ll do

• Ensure efficient daily operation of a branch, including lending, product sales, and customer service in line with the bank’s objectives
• Prepare the plan for the growth of branch business in consultation with the Cluster Head
• Implement the plan through the Branch team to achieve top line goals
• Establish and strengthen relations with key customers (e.g., top 10%) to generate sustained business
• Review daily/periodic reports (e.g., overdrawn accounts, temporary overdrafts, cash retention limit, office accounts) and take proactive action for profitable and ethical business
• Ensure audit-related deliverables, both internal and external, are met as per prescribed norms
• Ensure compliance with due processes and guidelines
• Create a performance-oriented environment leading to high employee motivation and productivity

What you’ll bring

• Graduate or MBA (Marketing) preferred from a recognized institute
• NCFM and AMFI certifications
• 10–15 years of experience in the BFSI sector
• Knowledge of banking products and services
• Knowledge of regulatory guidelines and norms
• Good verbal and written communication in English and the local language
• Ability to manage complex client situations
• Ability to handle pressure and meet deadlines
