AI/Automation Engineer

About the role

Vanguard's Hyderabad, India office is building a technology center focused on AI, mobile, and cloud-based technologies to drive business outcomes and deliver a world-class client experience. The AI/Automation Engineer supports and automates operational processes in a legacy application environment, developing and maintaining shell scripts executed on Control-M, performing log maintenance and service management, and working with cross-functional teams to ensure application stability and process improvements. The role is based in Hyderabad, Telangana and follows a hybrid work model.

What you’ll do

  • Provides advanced level configuration services on multiple platforms in the test environment, working on complex systems with large numbers of interfaces and users
  • Supports complex software builds and elevations, creates directories and security groups, recreates prior versions, and monitors software, hardware, or middleware updates
  • Provides support for the maintenance and administration of source code archive databases, and writes and maintains documentation including policies, procedures, configuration templates, guides, and re
  • Reviews configuration management plans and completes complex client requests, adds, updates, and completes IT problem management and change management records, and researches and resolves complex issu
  • Works with management to implement quality assurance improvement plans and initiatives, concentrating on methodology and configuration management
  • Creates standard and ad hoc reports for IT project teams and managers, and measures and assesses metrics including accuracy, timeliness, errors, rescues, and availability
  • Trains and mentors staff, writes training materials, and resolves complex issues elevated from staff
  • Ensures the back-end functionality is reliable, secure and scalable, implementing best practices for data protection and system performance

What you’ll bring

  • Bachelor's degree (B.E./B. Tech) in Computer Science or IT, or a related field, or Bachelor's in Computer Applications (BCA)
  • 5-8 years of experience in Unix/Linux shell scripting
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in configuration management, software builds, release management, and system administration
  • Mandatory skills: Linux/Unix, troubleshooting Java based applications and environments, Apache/Tomcat
  • Required AI/Automation skills: Claude, Co-Pilot, Power Apps, UiPath, etc.
  • Knowledge in SRE, experience in creating SRE dashboards and Control-M for execution of scripts
  • Excellent collaboration and stakeholder management skills, working with development, QA, and operations teams

Nice to have

  • Linux KornShell scripting, Tomcat, KONG API Gateway, Cloud Development (AWS)
  • Expertise in source code management tools (e.g., GitHub, SVN), CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, Ansible/AWX Tower), and scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell, KSH)
  • Understanding of JIRA, Confluence, Artifactory, Control-M, ServiceNow, Splunk
  • Exposure to production support, cloud concepts, automation engineering, and experience creating automation playbooks and supporting environment deployment processes
  • Familiarity with vendor product evaluation, software testing, and quality assurance methodologies
