About the role
Automation – Energy division at ABB focuses on clean, efficient power solutions. The Senior Field Service Engineer executes installation, service, maintenance and commissioning of DCS Automation Systems for hydro power projects, plans and performs work on‑site and remotely, and leads project teams during major assignments. Bangalore, India, on-site role with 70‑80% travel across India.
What you’ll do
- Execute low to medium complexity service work per ABB standards
- Plan and perform first‑time‑right installations and commissions
- Provide on‑site and remote support, resolve issues and ensure safety
- Lead project teams during major commissioning assignments
- Identify technical issues, conduct root cause analysis, recommend corrective actions
- Prepare material lists and coordinate parts, tools, equipment
What you’ll bring
- 3-8 years experience with DCS systems in hydro/power industry
- Strong foundation in process control and instrumentation
- Experience on large projects (100+ MW)
- Skilled in installation, service, maintenance and commissioning of DCS
- Willingness to travel 70-80% across India
- Diploma or B.E/B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, Telecommunication, or Instrumentation
