About the role

The Technical Lead, Stack role at Parallel Wireless in Bangalore is a hybrid position focused on the full development lifecycle of L2/L3 embedded protocol stacks for 4G/5G cellular radio products. Day-to-day work includes designing, coding, unit testing, debugging, and integrating stack features for future products while troubleshooting existing solutions deployed globally. The role requires deep expertise in 3GPP RAN/O-RAN specifications, LTE/5G AS protocol layers, and C/C++ programming on Linux.

What you’ll do

  • Responsible for the full development process of L2/L3 embedded protocol stack including design, coding, unit testing, debugging, and integration
  • Develop new features/environment for Parallel Wireless future products
  • Debug existing solutions which are used by customers around the world

What you’ll bring

  • Understanding of end-to-end solutions for 4G/5G network architecture
  • Familiar with 3GPP RAN and O-RAN specifications and functionality
  • Development experience on Cellular Radio products complying with 3GPP specifications for E-UTRA (LTE) and NR
  • Familiar with communication interfaces: Ethernet / TCP/IP / UDP
  • Good knowledge of RAN protocols and interfaces: LTE/5G AS protocol layers — PHY, MAC, RLC, PDCP, RRC
  • Expert-level proficiency in the MAC and RLC layers is required
  • Excellent log analysis and debugging skills
  • Must be strong in C/C++ programming and Linux OS

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of AI/ML concepts and their application to RAN (e.g., network optimization, ML frameworks); hands-on experience applying AI/ML in a telecom/RAN context is a strong plus
  • Hands-on experience debugging in a Linux environment with tools like GDB, QXDM, TM500, QCAT, etc.
  • Experience with Git
  • Knowledge of the O-RAN E3 interface and dApp development
