About the role

Senior WordPress Developer at TruckBook responsible for building and maintaining the company’s online presence. Leverages deep expertise in PHP, MySQL, and WordPress core to create custom themes, templates, and plugins, ensuring high performance and scalability. Works closely with marketing and design teams to translate concepts into responsive, SEO‑optimized web pages using HTML5, CSS3, Bootstrap, and jQuery. Designs robust database schemas, monitors performance, and troubleshoots issues across themes, plugins, and RESTful API integrations. Leads a cross‑functional team, coordinating agile sprints, estimating delivery timelines, and providing technical guidance. Drives continuous improvement through code reviews, testing support, and proactive optimization. Passionate about delivering clean, maintainable code and fostering a collaborative, innovative culture within TruckBook’s distributed engineering environment.

What you’ll do

• Develop and maintain company website and pages using WordPress
• Collaborate with marketing team on new projects
• Design database architecture for complex projects
• Ensure optimal database performance
• Develop front-end with design team
• Analyze and resolve DB/theme/plugin issues
• Assist delivery team with timeline estimation
• Support testing team with issue resolution

What you’ll bring

• 3-5 years experience in WordPress development
• Proficient in PHP, MySQL, HTML5/CSS3, Bootstrap, jQuery
• Experience creating custom themes, templates, and plugins (ACF, Elementor, SEO plugins)
• Knowledge of RESTful APIs (JSON, XML) and database design
• Strong debugging and performance optimization skills

Nice to have

• Experience managing a team of designers and developers
• Familiarity with JIRA and Trello
• Agile sprint experience
