About the role

Senior WordPress Developer needed to own full lifecycle of WordPress sites, from design to deployment. Must craft custom themes and plugins using PHP 8+, Gutenberg blocks, and modern JavaScript frameworks. Responsibilities include performance tuning, Core Web Vitals optimization, security hardening, and CI/CD automation. The role requires collaboration with UI/UX designers, digital marketers, and backend engineers, mentoring junior developers, and maintaining documentation. Strong Git workflow, Linux administration, and API integration skills are essential. The position is full‑time, on‑site in Zirakpur, Punjab, India, and seeks a candidate with 4–7 years of experience and a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.

What you’ll do

Develop custom themes from Figma/Adobe XD mock-ups
Create/extend plugins using OOP PHP and WordPress APIs
Maintain and refactor legacy themes/plugins for performance
Determine optimal hosting, caching, and CI/CD workflows
Implement database-efficient queries and object caching
Conduct Core Web Vitals audits and deliver sub‑2 s load times
Harden WordPress installs with security best practices
Manage regular updates, backups, and disaster‑recovery runbooks
Integrate third‑party APIs (REST/GraphQL), payment gateways
Build headless/decoupled WordPress setups when appropriate
Participate in sprint planning, code reviews, and design discussions
Guide junior developers and enforce coding best practices
Write technical documentation, release notes, and user manuals
Coordinate automated and manual testing (PHPUnit, Cypress, BrowserStack)
Collaborate with UI/UX designers, digital marketers, and backend engineers

What you’ll bring

4–7 years WordPress dev experience (themes & plugins)
Proficient in PHP 8+, MySQL, HTML5, CSS3/Sass, JavaScript (ES6+)
Experience with Gutenberg block dev, Webpack, Vite, npm/Yarn
Strong performance optimization & Core Web Vitals expertise
Version control with Git, code reviews, and CI/CD pipelines

Headless CMS experience (Next.js, Gatsby, Astro)
