About the role
SYSTRA seeks a seasoned Chief Expert in Telecommunication Systems to lead the design, integration, and commissioning of telecom infrastructure for high‑speed rail projects across India. The role demands deep expertise in backbone data transmission, wireless networks, CCTV, access control, and SCADA interfaces, as well as coordination with rolling stock, signalling, and MEP systems. The candidate will review designs, approve interface documents, verify contractor work, and facilitate statutory approvals with agencies such as ISA and CMRS. With over 25 years of railway experience, including 15+ years in high‑speed and metro telecom projects and 5+ years managing telecom works, the expert will drive quality, safety, and performance standards for critical rail infrastructure.
What you’ll do
- Review telecom designs and subsystems
- Install, integrate, test, and commission telecom infrastructure
- Interface telecom with rolling stock, signalling, MEP, SCADA
- Approve interface documents
- Verify contractor work and prepare payment requests
- Assist client in obtaining statutory approvals
- Coordinate with agencies such as ISA and CMRS
What you’ll bring
- Postgraduate or Doctorate in relevant field
- Graduate Engineering degree minimum
- 25+ years overall experience in Railways/Metro
- 15+ years in Telecommunication system for High‑Speed/Semi‑High‑Speed/Metro Rail Projects
- 5+ years as in‑charge of Telecom system works in High‑Speed Rail Projects
