Sr Engineer, SDET Engineering

About the role

This SDET Engineering role sits within TransUnion's International Platforms & Services Team, supporting the CallerID and ENUM family of services as part of the Product Operations team. Day-to-day, you will participate in the full software development lifecycle of complex applications, defining functional and non-functional testing strategies, developing automation, conducting in-sprint and exploratory testing, and guiding junior associates. The position is based in Bengaluru and operates on a hybrid model requiring a minimum of two days per week in the assigned TU office.

What you’ll do

• Works closely with the Scrum team to clarify requirements, ensure testability, and provide feedback on design (functional and technical).
• Contributes to impact assessments from feature enhancements on system-level interactions and existing automated test suites.
• Conducts in-sprint test design, test planning, test automation development, and test execution, using strong exploratory testing to uncover weaknesses in test approaches.
• Identifies opportunities for reuse to design and implement test automation libraries.
• Responsible for logging defects, making recommendations to address defects, and ensuring quality of the scrum team's work.
• Conducts performance and scalability testing.
• Contributes to improvements in testing coverage, designs test frameworks, develops test suites, expands automated testing harness, and automates scenarios/cases.
• Provides test consultation to Scrum team members to assist them in developing robust unit test suites.

• Knowledge of Gherkin Language, Cucumber, and Robot test framework.
• Highly experienced in testing highly complex technology applications and large-scale distributed systems.
• Strong attention to detail with demonstrated ability to solve complex problems and communicate quick, creative solutions.
• Ability to work in collaborative teams located across the globe and across cross-functional technologies.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Nice to have

• Experience in AWS preferred.
• Experience in Agile teams is a plus.
• Experience with CI/CD and Jenkins is a plus.
