Senior Quality Engineer

About the role

Ameriprise India LLP seeks a Senior Quality Engineer to join the Technology group within the AWMPO AWMP&S President's Office. The role focuses on designing, building, and maintaining test automation for UI applications, web services, and ETL, while collaborating with BSA and development teams to root-cause and retest defects. Based in Hyderabad, Telangana, India, the position is full-time with a hybrid work model requiring at least three days per week in the office.

What you’ll do

• Write automation scripts for UI applications, web services, and ETL
• Proactively maintain existing automation test scripts and upgrade the regression test suite after every release
• Collaborate with team members and contractors/vendors on bridge calls to perform root cause analysis and retest critical defects quickly
• Monitor and report issues, and work with the required team or vendor for quick resolution
• Send test status reports to leadership
• Recommend, create, and implement automation test scripts in existing or new applications
• Document solutions for problems or defects based on analysis of business goals, objectives, requirements, and existing technologies
• Manage defects by logging, prioritizing, and retesting, and write manual and automation test scripts after coordination with BSA and development teams

What you’ll bring

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar field, or equivalent work experience
• 5-8 years of relevant experience
• 5+ years of strong experience in automation using Selenium Webdriver and Rest Assured
• 5+ years of experience in Java programming
• Strong hands-on experience with TestNG, Data and Keyword driven frameworks, and Page Object Model
• Strong knowledge of programming fundamentals and algorithms
• Strong database and SQL experience, including basic and complex queries and advanced T-SQL concepts
• Effective written and verbal communication skills

Nice to have

• Knowledge of any other scripting language such as Python, VB script, or Shell Script
• Knowledge of tools like Playwright, Cypress, TestCafe, or Puppeteer
• Mainframe knowledge
