About the role

ASIC Design Automation Team at NXP Semiconductors drives digital transformation by applying AI/ML to ASIC design and implementation flows. The engineer explores research ideas, prototypes AI/ML techniques such as GenAI, reinforcement learning and graph neural networks, and collaborates with architecture, IP, SoC and verification teams to improve power, performance, area and quality. Based in Bangalore, India, on-site work model, focusing on cutting‑edge advanced node technologies for edge‑AI and automotive processors.

What you’ll do

• Explore and prototype AI/ML techniques for VLSI design automation
• Collaborate with architecture, IP, SoC and verification teams across sites
• Develop and evaluate solutions to improve design power, performance, area and verification
• Integrate automation into actual ASIC design and implementation flows
• Contribute to digital transformation initiatives for edge‑AI and automotive processors

What you’ll bring

• BS or MS in Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering
• 5 years of software development experience
• Proficiency in Python and C++
• Unix/Linux development experience
• Git or BitBucket version control
