About the role
NXP Semiconductors Digital Transformation team builds AI/ML‑driven automation for ASIC design and implementation. The engineer prototypes and evaluates state‑of‑the‑art AI/ML techniques—GenAI, reinforcement learning, graph neural networks—to improve power, performance, area and verification flows for SoC and IP projects. Bangalore, on‑site, hybrid schedule with occasional remote days.
What you’ll do
- Explore and prototype AI/ML techniques for VLSI design automation
- Collaborate with architecture, IP, SoC and verification teams across sites
- Develop and integrate prototype solutions into design and implementation flows
- Evaluate and recommend tool features to improve design quality
- Pilot automation on actual ASIC projects
What you’ll bring
- 5 years of software development experience
- Proficiency in Python and C++
- Unix/Linux development and Git/BitBucket version control
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication
Nice to have
- Experience with VLSI CAD methodology and tool development
- Knowledge of EDA tools for design, verification, DFT and implementation
- Understanding of design constraints (SDC, clocks, CDC, RDC) and static timing analysis
- Familiarity with low‑power flows (UPF)
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, LSF, Splunk
