About the role
The Manufacturing Specialist - Operation Management role at GE in Vadodara manages daily plant operations to ensure production line reliability and consistency. The specialist oversees an operation or part of a production facility, driving targets in quality, cost, delivery, and safety while managing salaried employees and a team of production associates. Day-to-day work includes executing standard operational and technical tasks, resolving issues with technical judgment, and ensuring continuous business improvement. The position requires readiness to work shifts and manage shifts independently.
What you’ll do
- Manage an operation, business, unit, or part of a production facility to reach defined targets in quality, cost, delivery and safety
- Ensure continuous business improvement according to benchmarks and standards
- Team management of salaried employees
- Execute standard operational/technical tasks typically subject to instructions and work routines
- Resolve issues in situations that require good technical knowledge and judgment within established procedures
- Consult more senior team members for issues outside of defined instructions/parameters
- Develop strong customer relationships and serve as the interface between customer and GE for customer facing roles
- Explain technical information to others
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor's degree or Diploma from an accredited university or college
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in manufacturing in the Power transformer industry
- Strong domain knowledge of high voltage (400 KV & above) transformer manufacturing process
- Must have experience of High Voltage Transformer Manufacturing of more than 5 to 10 years
- Ready to come in Shifts and manage team of production associates
- Ready to come in Shifts and manage Shift independently
Nice to have
- Candidates having experience of Assembly / Tanking shop with 765 KVA Transformers will be preferred
- Thorough knowledge of manufacturing process of > 400 KV Power Transformers
