About the role

Staff Software Development Engineer at Viavi Solutions responsible for designing, developing, and testing software systems for next-gen SaaS products. What you’ll do

  • Lead next-gen SaaS product and platform development
  • Manage full lifecycle of software engineering projects within quality, time, budget, KPIs/SLAs
  • Guide Software Engineering team and liaise with other departments on product and technical requirements
  • Ensure team follows best software engineering practices, quality processes and methodologies
  • Direct implementation initiatives for new software products and applications, organize update process and coordinate releases
  • Manage deliverables to meet deadlines, specifications and budgets, implement performance metrics and prepare reports
  • Keep engineers current with technological developments, monitor and evaluate competitive applications and products
  • Promote continuous improvement and efficiency in software/business processes through innovative tools and techniques
  • Manage multiple interfaces, relationships and communication to align software delivery with customer requirements and business value
  • Perform peer code reviews and foster engineering best practices for high-quality products

What you’ll bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Science/IT/Computing or equivalent
  • 8+ years of experience in SW Engineering role & Delivery Role
  • Significant proficiency/in-depth knowledge in the domain (technology and/or products)
  • 4 years of experience in leading engineers through project lifecycle resulting successful deliverables
  • Thorough understanding of software development and/or support methodologies, principles and procedures and related software management tools.
  • Experience with Telecom Product development with TMF standards preferred
  • Experience building scalable SaaS platform clear advantage.
