About the role

Frontend Engineering at Zscaler builds the Zero Trust Browser extension that secures users inside Chrome, Firefox, and Safari. The Staff Software Development Engineer creates high‑performance, secure TypeScript extensions, writes unit and integration tests, and collaborates with UI/UX designers, backend engineers, and QA to ship end‑to‑end features. Bangalore, hybrid work model, relocation assistance available.

What you’ll do

• Translate product requirements and UI/UX designs into performant extension features
• Implement security‑sensitive logic with low latency and memory overhead
• Write clean, modular, well‑tested TypeScript code
• Develop unit and integration tests for complex browser contexts
• Debug issues across background scripts, content scripts, and popups
• Collaborate with designers, backend engineers, and QA
• Participate in code reviews and promote best practices
• Contribute to tooling and build pipeline improvements

What you’ll bring

• 5+ years software development
• Production frontend experience in TypeScript/JavaScript
• Browser‑extension development for Chrome/Firefox/Safari
• Strong JavaScript (ES6+) and TypeScript skills
• Experience with React or similar framework
• HTML5/CSS3 component UI building
• Proficiency with extension APIs and manifest versions
• Curiosity in AI tool integration
