About the role

Optical Line System Development Team at Nokia builds embedded software for optical line products. The Staff Software Development Engineer leads design, development, and integration of firmware and software features, collaborating with system, hardware, and validation teams in an agile environment. India, hybrid work model with flexible on-site presence.

What you’ll do

• Develop and deliver embedded optical line system software features
• Coordinate with system engineering, firmware, and validation teams
• Ensure quality through continuous integration pipelines
• Lead small projects and mentor junior staff
• Analyze, design, develop, test, and troubleshoot integrated hardware/software systems
• Provide Tier 2/3 support and training

What you’ll bring

• 8+ years software development
• Experience with optical Layer 0 boards/cards (ROADM, Amplifier, RAMAN, OTDR, DGE)
• Design and analytical skills for software modeling and performance
• C/C++/Python in multi‑threaded environments
• Collaboration with HW/FW teams on specifications
• Agile way of working
