Supplier Quality Development Manager

About the role
Supplier Quality Development team at Valmet drives global supplier quality improvement across its pulp, paper and energy portfolio. The manager leads deployment of supplier development plans, harmonizes quality processes, and coaches suppliers using Lean and Six Sigma to boost performance. Based in Pune with additional responsibilities in Chennai, on-site work model, relocation assistance available.
What you’ll do
- Lead deployment of supplier development plans aligned with global strategy
- Drive harmonization and standardization of supplier quality processes across regions
- Identify and address supplier capability gaps using Lean, Six Sigma, 8D methods
- Collaborate with regional SQM leaders to align activities with project priorities
- Serve as point of contact for supplier quality process improvement and digital tool adoption
- Monitor, report and escalate supplier improvement progress via KPIs and dashboards
- Benchmark best practices internally and externally and share tools and templates
- Coach SQM colleagues and suppliers to embed continuous improvement culture
What you’ll bring
- 10+ years supplier quality or manufacturing improvement experience
- University degree in Engineering, Quality, Operations or Supply Chain
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher certification
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 or VDA 6.3 standards
- Experience with capital projects or low‑volume, high‑complexity manufacturing
