About the role

Lead Machine Learning Engineer on Cohere Health’s Machine Learning and Data Science team, building AI models that automate clinical administrative tasks. Designs, develops, and deploys advanced ML algorithms for retrieval, classification, and generative use cases, ensuring production reliability and scalability. Works cross‑functionally with product managers, clinicians, and technical leaders to align solutions with Cohere’s mission of streamlining payer‑provider collaboration. Hyderabad, India, on‑site, 3 days per week.

What you’ll do

• Design and develop ML algorithms for retrieval, classification, and generative use cases
• Build scalable production ML systems
• Write reusable codebases for data preprocessing, training, evaluation, and deployment
• Provide best‑practice guidance to junior engineers
• Collaborate with product managers, clinicians, and technical leadership

What you’ll bring

• 7+ years applied ML experience
• Master’s degree or 5+ years with PhD
• Python and PyTorch expertise
