About the role

Valeo, a global automotive supplier, seeks a Maintenance Technician in Chennai to lead safety, environmental, and maintenance excellence. Responsibilities include creating safety standards, driving QRQC, assessing equipment environmental impact, and integrating safety LLC into design. The role manages engineers/technicians industrializing new equipment, ensuring VSDP & IPROM compliance, and participating in IAR preparation. Maintenance duties focus on minimizing MTTR, maximizing MTBF & TRP, budgeting overheads, labor, and spare parts, and deploying ERIM/TPM. The technician will update technical documentation, maintain FMEA, and keep spare parts lists current. Continuous improvement initiatives involve micro‑stoppage observations, PDCA/FTA, 5 WHYs, LLC & Kaizen cards, and promoting Valeo’s 5 axes to meet V5000 targets. The position requires strong safety culture, process ownership, and cross‑functional collaboration within Valeo’s multi‑cultural environment.

What you’ll do

  • Lead safety QRQC for all accidents & near‑misses involving Maintenance people
  • Participate in safety and environment risks reduction
  • Prepare LLC & Kaizen Cards
  • Promote Valeo 5 axes in daily activities, develop improvement plan on VPS, IP,TQ and reach assigned V5000 targets
  • Drive productivity actions related to P‑30
  • Ensure release and update of technical documentations & Work Instructions
  • Ensure equipment FMEA are done & up to date
  • Keep up to date the Lists of spare parts
