About the role

Rack Lifecycle Team at AWS Infrastructure Operations designs, plans, and operates AWS global infrastructure. The Rack Lifecycle Tech executes rack installation, structured cabling, and decommissioning on the data center floor, updates CMDB records, and coordinates with cross‑functional teams to ensure safe, compliant, and on‑time capacity delivery. What you’ll do

  • Execute rack installations and cabling per AWS standards
  • Perform structured cabling, labeling, and testing
  • Maintain accurate as‑built documentation in CMDB/DCIM
  • Handle material receipt, staging, and inventory tracking
  • Decommission racks, perform media destruction, and update records
  • Escalate SOP deviations to team lead promptly
  • Participate in daily stand‑ups and cross‑team coordination
  • Support continuous improvement and training of new technicians

What you’ll bring

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science or related field
  • 4+ years data center operations or structured cabling experience

Nice to have

  • Experience with rack installation, power connections, grounding
  • Proficiency in fiber/copper termination and OTDR testing
  • Familiarity with inventory tools like Boost, MARS
  • Knowledge of EHS, LOTO safety protocols
