Analyst/Sr Analyst, Portfolio Management - Investor Reporting
About the role
The Amherst Group is a leading real estate investment and advisory firm with over 1,000 employees and $14.1 billion in assets under management, leveraging proprietary data and analytics to transform real estate ownership, financing, and management. This role supports Senior Portfolio Managers in the US by building and maintaining complex portfolio and fund-level financial models, including cash flow projections, waterfalls, IRR, DCF, and NPV valuations. The analyst also handles PM Investor Relations Reporting for Single-Family Residential Joint Ventures, preparing and modifying operational reports on weekly, monthly, and quarterly cadences, monitoring report performance, and resolving data discrepancies. Based in India, this is an on-site, full-time position.
What you’ll do
- Assist Senior Portfolio Managers in the US to maintain and improve complex portfolio investment and fund-level models
- Build and maintain portfolio/financial models including cash flow projections, fund-level waterfalls, IRR calculations, DCF and NPV valuations
- Prepare fund operational reports and modifications for Single-Family Residential Joint Ventures with strategic investors on weekly, monthly, and quarterly cadences ensuring timeliness and accuracy
- Maintain an accurate inventory of fund operational reports and modifications across all investment strategies for SFR JV investors
- Work with the Manager based in Austin, TX to evaluate and clarify investor requests, offer alternative solutions, and perform deep dives into operational metrics
- Monitor performance of operational reports and take corrective action to optimize or improve the reporting process
- Identify data discrepancies within weekly, monthly, and quarterly operational reports and communicate corrective solutions
- Support PM and Investor Reporting team members based in Austin, Texas with additional reporting asks or special projects building on understanding of the SFR business
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor's degree required; MBA, CA, or CFA with financial markets understanding is a plus
- 1-4 years of prior experience in Financial Services and/or Real Estate firm preferred
- Advanced skills in MS Office Excel and PowerPoint
- Highly analytical mindset
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Attention to detail and ability to work with complex data sets
- Proven ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Nice to have
- Prior experience in using Yardi, Tableau, and SQL preferred
- MBA, CA, or CFA with financial markets understanding a plus
