About the role

The SH Legal IGT & Asoj role at Hindalco Industries provides quality and timely legal support to the business in Waghodia, Vadodara, Gujarat, India. Day-to-day work includes drafting and negotiating agreements, managing disputes and litigation through Provakil, conducting compliance audits and risk assessments, and advising on regulatory approvals. The position also involves standardizing processes, supporting cross-functional teams, and building technical knowledge of the company's operations across India.

What you’ll do

• Drafting and reviewing various kinds of agreements and other legal documents to ensure legal risks are minimized or eliminated and compliance with Company's internal risk parameters/policies as well a
• Standardizing agreements and conducting detailed reviews of legal documents to identify potential risks to the business, raising red flags and making recommendations to resolve issues
• Participating in meetings with counterparts and business teams to discuss and negotiate contract terms with quick turnaround of documents
• Managing litigation through Provakil, reviewing existing litigations, identifying impact and cost reduction opportunities, assisting in leading litigations and investigations, and collaborating with b
• Guiding the business on all types of litigation, briefing lawyers, reviewing documents relevant for legal proceedings, and attending hearings before Courts and Tribunals
• Drafting written statements, rejoinders, and documents and ensuring timely filing, and following up with advocates
• Reviewing and monitoring compliance management tools, conducting periodic compliance audits, preparing audit reports, and updating the business with latest changes in laws, rules, and regulations
• Identifying gaps in operational processes, suggesting improvements to existing SOPs, implementing new processes with appropriate SOPs, and assisting in stabilization of ProVakil with roll out reports

What you’ll bring

• Managing litigation, arbitration, and disputes through Provakil, including reviewing existing cases, identifying cost reduction opportunities, and collaborating with external counsels
• Conducting audit reviews and risk assessments, performing periodic compliance audits, preparing audit reports, and identifying compliance gaps with mitigation solutions
• Researching, interpreting, and analyzing laws and legal situations to strategize and advise the business
• Assisting in handling diverse disputes and litigations, including drafting written statements and rejoinders for timely filing
• Identifying gaps in operational processes and suggesting improvements to existing SOPs
• Assisting cross-functional teams with regulatory approvals, licences, and compliance matters with external statutory authorities
• Providing proactive and reactive legal support in a highly regulated business with zero tolerance for statutory compliance failures
