Lead Engineer, VES

About the role

Vehicle Engineering Services (VES) at Mahindra & Mahindra drives the development of automotive electrical and electronics platforms for ICE and EV vehicles. The Lead Engineer owns end‑to‑end delivery of VES projects, coordinating with COE leads, product heads, and program managers to meet technical, cost, and quality targets. Works on system‑level compliance, risk mitigation, and integration across vehicle subsystems. Based in Chennai, India, on‑site role with hybrid collaboration across global teams.

What you’ll bring

• 8 to 10 years of experience in automotive electrical and electronics systems
• Design and development of automotive electrical & electronics systems including wiring harnesses for PV ICE/EV platforms
• Knowledge of vehicle PTD systems and system architecture integration
• Functional knowledge of vehicle electrical & electronics interfaces
• Experience collaborating with COE leads, product heads, and program managers
• Ability to manage scope, risk, and quality targets for complex projects
• Strategic planning of material costs and compliance with TCP and FI targets
• Facilitate technical alignment across architecture, packaging, and interface requirements
