About the role
Xylem Water Solutions India team drives sustainable water technology innovations. The Senior Lead Cost Engineer builds should‑cost models, analyzes BOMs, supports RFQ negotiations, and leads value‑engineering initiatives for electronics and control panel products. Vadodara, India, on‑site role with hybrid collaboration across global commodity managers and R&D leaders.
What you’ll do
- Build bottom‑up and parametric should‑cost models for PCBAs and panel builds
- Analyze BOMs, process steps, yields, labor and overhead costs
- Normalize supplier quotes and provide negotiation insights
- Lead VAVE, teardown and benchmarking projects
- Maintain cost databases and update market trend parameters
- Partner with cross‑functional teams during NPI and sustaining phases
- Provide DFM/DFA/DFT recommendations to engineering
- Facilitate design reviews and workshops
What you’ll bring
- 4‑year Bachelor’s in Electrical/Electronics, Mechatronics, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering
- 8‑13 years supply chain and should‑cost experience in electronics/control panels
Nice to have
- Proficiency in Excel cost modeling
- Experience with PCB fabrication, wire harness, and industrial control components
- Knowledge of IPC‑A‑610, UL‑508A, IEC standards
- Familiarity with aPriori or equivalent costing tools
- Project/program management and value‑engineering certification a plus
