Mainframe MVS / z/OS System Administration

About the role

Kyndryl Mainframe Services team drives mission‑critical mainframe modernization for global enterprises. The System Administrator leads z/OS system programming, designs resilient mainframe infrastructure, and manages upgrades, automation and security across client environments. Work is on‑site at Chennai, Hyderabad or Bangalore, supporting diverse industry clients.

What you’ll do

• Lead z/OS system programming initiatives
• Design and implement scalable mainframe infrastructure
• Manage upgrades, migrations and SMP/E maintenance
• Oversee core components: JES, storage, networking
• Support enterprise subsystems CICS, DB2, IMS, MQ
• Drive automation, performance and capacity optimization
• Resolve critical incidents and perform RCA
• Ensure security, compliance and SLA adherence

What you’ll bring

• 7+ years IBM z/OS system programming
• SMP/E installation and maintenance
• JES2/JES3 administration
• Mainframe storage and networking
• CICS, DB2, IMS, MQ support
• Performance tuning and capacity planning
• Root cause analysis for critical incidents
• Scripting with Shell, REXX or CLIST
