Network Deployment Build Manager

About the role

The Global Network Delivery (GND) team within AWS Infrastructure Services designs, plans, and delivers all AWS global infrastructure, translating demand signals into commissioned network capacity across new and existing data centre builds globally. As a Network Deployment Build Manager based in Hyderabad, TS, IND, you will lead a team of highly qualified technicians, collaborate with internal customers and external vendors, and drive the stability and sustainability of next-generation networks while developing innovative ways to automate and scale the network as AWS expands. You will work with minimum supervision in a dynamic environment, blending strategic leadership with technical problem-solving to facilitate smooth project execution across several ADSIPL data center locations in India.

What you’ll do

• Lead a team of highly qualified technicians for network deployment builds
• Work closely with internal customers of ADSIPL and external vendors to facilitate smooth project execution
• Provide build and scaling support for several data center locations of ADSIPL in India
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, and operations managers
• Mentor talented engineers and foster team growth
• Develop innovative approaches to global network delivery and identify ways to deliver capacity sooner
• Drive the stability and sustainability of next-generation networks
• Develop innovative ways to automate and scale the network as AWS expands

What you’ll bring

• 10+ years of experience in data centre network infrastructure, structured cabling, or network deployment
• Experience managing multiple projects, prioritizing, planning, and managing time
• Knowledge of project management tools and software
• Strong working knowledge of network deploy processes including vendor management and resource management
• Develop, improve, and share deploy best practices across the region and with peers globally
• Associate's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Networking Engineering), or experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies
• Ability to work with minimum supervision in a dynamic environment
• Experience facilitating smooth project execution with internal customers and external vendors

Nice to have

• 3+ years of managing technical teams with significant personnel management experience and examples of developing engineers and building successful teams
• Experience building measures and metrics, and developing reporting solutions
• Experience in driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
• Experience in a network build delivery or infrastructure deployment organization at a hyper scale cloud provider
• Familiarity with multiple data centre build types across new regions, capacity expansions, and network upgrades
