About the role

Mechanical Engineering team at Enphase Energy designs next‑generation inverter and BESS solutions. The Senior Staff Mechanical Engineer leads structural and electro‑mechanical design for utility‑scale battery storage systems, collaborating with thermal, electrical, sourcing and manufacturing teams to deliver production‑ready products from concept through deployment. Bangalore, India – on‑site, 5 days per week.

What you’ll do

  • Own structural design from concept to final product
  • Develop electro‑mechanical products for outdoor applications meeting IP ratings
  • Perform structural analysis on plastics, aluminum extrusions and other materials
  • Design custom bulkhead connectors for high‑voltage DC and AC applications
  • Review and analyze solutions for performance, cost and schedule optimization
  • Support sourcing, manufacturing and quality teams with mechanical expertise
  • Prepare and execute test plans for structural validation
  • Conduct failure analysis and root‑cause identification
  • Generate and review documentation including proposals, analysis reports and specifications
  • Review and approve components, including vendor site visits
  • Provide technical leadership and mentor junior engineers

What you’ll bring

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering with 12+ years experience or Master's with 8+ years
  • Strong fundamentals in FEM/FEA structural and thermal analysis
  • Proficiency with Flotherm, Ansys Icepak or SolidWorks thermal tools
  • Design for manufacture expertise for injection molding, sheet metal, stamping, milling/turning
  • CAD proficiency with SolidWorks or equivalent
  • Knowledge of inverter standards UL1741, IEC62109, NEMA
  • Experience with product validation methods (vibration, drop, impact, thermal cycling)
  • High‑volume production experience (500k+ units per year)
