About the role
The Manager, IT Delivery role within Vanguard's Global Investment and Financial Services (GIFS) Data team in Hyderabad, India, leads technical support staff to design, develop, test, implement, and monitor software and tools. Day-to-day, the manager defines scope and requirements with business leaders, plans and executes system development, acts as a liaison with business sponsors, leads cross-functional teams, manages project risks and resources, and integrates cybersecurity best practices for secure delivery. The position operates in a hybrid work model at Vanguard's India office.
What you’ll do
- Hires, evaluates, and supervises crew; provides guidance and training; sets performance standards, reviews performance, and makes compensation decisions per HR policies.
- Delivers software releases for business units; works with business clients to determine scope and develops environmental requirements for each project.
- Works with management to develop and implement staffing and operational plans; participates in short and long-term department goals; monitors and reports on service delivery metrics and performance.
- Develops and implements changes to department policies and procedures to meet changing business needs; identifies opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Leads quality initiatives to improve service delivery; works with senior management in planning, development, and execution of short and long-range goals.
- Presents status, metrics, and department initiatives at meetings with management and project peers; maintains relationships with technical teams, IT, and business partners.
- Participates in department budget development; reviews expenses and ensures department operates within budgetary guidelines.
- Ensures staff complies with IT and information security policies; verifies deliverables meet requirements.
What you’ll bring
- Minimum 8 years of experience in IT project management, software development, or IT service delivery.
- Previous leadership experience required.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Provides people leadership, manages and leads teams of Engineers in a hybrid environment.
- Strong collaboration with counterpart IT leaders in UK, US, and AU in jointly driving department OKRs.
- Strong relationship management.
- Experience leading transformation and product/automation engineering.
- Strong ability to manage stakeholders and clear communication skills.
Nice to have
PMP, ITIL, or Agile certifications preferred.
