Associate Engineer Mechanical Engineering

About the role

Packaging Engineering team at Vertiv in Pune, India focuses on designing, validating, and optimizing packaging solutions for product protection, cost efficiency, regulatory compliance, and sustainability. The Associate Engineer works cross‑functionally with design, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain to develop package specifications, conduct testing, and support production issues. Onsite work in Pune with occasional travel for supplier visits.

What you’ll do

• Design and develop package solutions
• Support packaging validation through simulated and physical testing
• Collaborate with design engineering, manufacturing, quality, service, marketing, procurement, logistics, and suppliers
• Prepare packaging specifications, drawings, BOMs, and customer‑facing instructions
• Support production and resolve packaging‑related issues
• Evaluate packaging materials for performance, recycled content, recyclability, cost, and sustainability
• Ensure compliance with applicable standards, customer requirements, and regulations
• Support continuous improvement and cost‑reduction initiatives

What you’ll bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
• 1-2 years mechanical design experience with MCAD tools
• 1 year packaging or manufacturing engineering experience
• Documentation practices knowledge
• Strong problem‑solving and communication skills
