About the role
Mechanical Systems Engineering team at Black & Veatch designs and delivers critical infrastructure for thermal power plants. The Associate Engineer develops engineering deliverables, performs calculations for piping, pumps, valves and heat exchangers, and supports vendor engineering and bid activities. Pune, India, on-site, relocation assistance available.
What you’ll do
- Develop and review engineering calculations and design documents
- Create and maintain P&ID drawings for mechanical systems
- Coordinate vendor pre‑bid and post‑bid engineering activities
- Support continuous improvement and change management initiatives
- Mentor entry‑level engineers and interns
What you’ll bring
- 4-14 years of experience in thermal power plant system engineering
- Proficiency in pipe, pump, valve and heat exchanger sizing calculations
- Experience with P&ID development using Bentley OPPID or similar
- Knowledge of international codes and standards for power plant systems
- Familiarity with balance of plant systems such as steam, water, gas and cooling
