Senior Mainframe Storage Administrator

About the role

Kyndryl Mainframe Storage team ensures mission‑critical storage reliability for enterprise mainframes. The Senior Mainframe Storage Administrator provides technical support, performs data migrations, configures DASD and tape systems, manages storage replication, conducts disaster recovery testing, and leads daily operations meetings while meeting SLA targets. Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai, India, on-site work model with hybrid flexibility.

What you’ll do

• Provide technical support meeting SLA and compliance
• Perform storage box data migrations and replication
• Develop and maintain backup/restore and performance tuning procedures
• Initialize and manage DASD and tape volumes, including space management
• Define SMS rules, ACS routines, and manage storage datasets
• Plan and execute disaster recovery tests and manage copy services
• Conduct root cause analysis and problem resolution
• Lead daily operations meetings when no P1 incidents

What you’ll bring

• 9+ years mainframe storage administration
• Experience with DASD and tape data storage solutions
• Working knowledge of z/OS operating system and storage fundamentals
• Proficiency with TSO, ISPF, JCL, VSAM, ISMF, JES2, catalogs, datasets, REXX, SAS, SDSF
• Experience with DFSMS, DFSMSHSM, DFSMSDSS, DFSMSDFP, DFSMSRMM, ICF catalog, CA Disk, FDR, Omegamon XE
