About the role
Mainframe Storage team at Kyndryl ensures reliable storage services for mission‑critical mainframe environments. The Senior Mainframe Storage Administrator provides technical support, performs data migrations, manages storage devices, and leads daily operations meetings to meet SLAs. Based in Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangalore or any Indian city, this role follows an on‑site work model with occasional global on‑call support.
What you’ll do
- Adopt technology to meet customer requirements
- Perform storage box data migrations and replication
- Develop and maintain backup/restore procedures
- Manage DASD and tape volumes, space management
- Define SMS rules and ACS routines
- Plan and execute disaster recovery tests
- Conduct root cause analysis and meet SLA targets
- Lead daily operations meetings
What you’ll bring
- 9+ years mainframe storage administration
- Experience with DASD and tape storage solutions
- Knowledge of z/OS, TSO, ISPF, JCL, VSAM
- Familiarity with DFSMS, DFSMSHSM, DFSMSDSS
- Experience with storage migration and replication
- Understanding of SMS rules and ACS routines
- Disaster recovery planning and testing
- Ability to work US, Europe, APAC hours on call
