The Pipe Stress Analysis Engineer role within the Oil & Gas sector in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, focuses on ensuring the mechanical integrity and safe operation of piping systems through detailed static and dynamic analysis. Day-to-day work involves modeling complex piping systems, performing code compliance checks, designing supports, and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams for onshore and offshore projects. The position requires substantial experience in piping stress analysis and adherence to international standards.

What you’ll do

  • Perform comprehensive static stress analysis for sustained, thermal expansion, and pressure loads
  • Conduct advanced dynamic analyses including seismic, wind, slug flow, fluid transient, AIV, FIV, and fatigue
  • Model and analyze complex systems connected to critical equipment like turbines, compressors, and reactors
  • Design and select piping support components such as spring hangers, snubbers, and expansion joints
  • Issue accurate load data to civil and structural teams for foundation and pipe rack design
  • Prepare piping stress specifications, design basis documents, and detailed stress analysis reports
  • Ensure compliance with international codes such as ASME B31.1, B31.3, B31.4, B31.8, and API standards
  • Coordinate with Mechanical, Process, and Structural disciplines to manage interfaces and resolve field issues

What you’ll bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 8-12 years of relevant experience in piping stress analysis
  • Substantial experience in Oil & Gas industry, including onshore and offshore projects
  • Expertise in CAESAR II software
  • In-depth understanding of ASME B31 series and API standards
  • Knowledge of WRC 107/297 for nozzle flexibility and flange leakage analysis
  • Strong grasp of engineering principles including statics, dynamics, materials science, and fluid dynamics
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills

Nice to have

  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Certification in use of CAESAR-II software
  • Experience with AutoPIPE or ROHR2
  • Familiarity with Navisworks for 3D model reviews
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or equivalent certification
  • Familiarity with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software
  • Site or fabrication yard experience
  • Leadership experience and mentoring of junior engineers
