Commodity Buyer

About the role

Commodity Buyer at GE Appliances drives total cost and supplier strategy for Digital Technology categories. Leads end‑to‑end sourcing, evaluates suppliers, negotiates contracts, and manages commercial terms to optimize cost of ownership. Owns vendor performance metrics, SLAs, scorecards, and quarterly business reviews. Partners with Finance, Legal, and business leaders on demand planning, budgeting, and forecasting. Manages contract lifecycle, including SOW, RFP, RFQ, renewals, and risk mitigation. Ensures compliance with company policies and regulatory standards. Supports governance meetings, continuous improvement of sourcing tools, and cross‑functional collaboration. Requires 3+ years in IT sourcing, procurement, or vendor management, strong negotiation, project management, and analytical skills. Works on‑site in Bangalore or Hyderabad, with partial overlap to US Eastern time and up to 10% travel.

What you’ll do

• Lead end‑to‑end sourcing for DT categories
• Execute category and supplier strategies
• Negotiate commercial terms, pricing, SLAs
• Identify cost savings, value creation
• Ensure compliance with policies, legal, regulations
• Own vendor performance, KPI, SLAs, scorecards, QBR
• Lead strategic business reviews with suppliers
• Partner with DT, Finance, business on demand planning, budgeting, forecasting
• Facilitate category and functional reviews
• Manage contract lifecycle: SOW, RFP, RFQ, renewals
• Review contracts, identify improvements, manage risk
• Act on performance, renewal, compliance data
• Participate in weekly, biweekly governance meetings
• Support site and engagement initiatives
• Contribute to sourcing tools, processes, analytics

What you’ll bring

• 3+ yrs IT sourcing, procurement, vendor mgmt

Nice to have

• Knowledge of sourcing systems and processes

• Familiar with ITIL, AI tools
• Experience with SOC/PCI
