About the role

Weekday AI client Storage Engineering team builds high‑performance, reliable storage solutions for enterprise customers. The engineer designs and develops embedded firmware for HDD/SSD devices, focusing on middle‑layer and backend components, and collaborates with hardware and validation teams to deliver scalable storage architectures. Bengaluru office, on-site work model, relocation assistance available.

What you’ll do

• Design, develop, and enhance embedded firmware for HDD/SSD storage devices
• Implement and optimize middle‑layer and backend firmware components
• Develop firmware features supporting FTL, SAS, SATA, and Flash technologies
• Create and maintain design documentation (SRS, SDD)
• Debug complex firmware issues and perform root‑cause analysis
• Participate in architecture and code reviews
• Collaborate with hardware, validation, and system teams throughout product lifecycle
• Support firmware validation, testing, and integration activities

What you’ll bring

• 10+ years storage embedded firmware development
• Strong experience with HDD/SSD firmware
• Expertise in FTL, SAS, SATA, Flash technologies
• Proficient in C++ (C a plus)
• Familiar with scripting languages (Python, Perl, Shell, Lua)
• Design complex algorithms for performance and reliability
• Debugging and root‑cause analysis skills
• Experience with Linux or Windows device drivers
