About the role
Thales Avionics Systems Engineering team builds advanced display and navigation systems for aerospace platforms. The Lead Avionics Systems Engineer drives system architecture, requirements, safety analysis, and integration for Primary Flight Displays, Navigation Displays, and Flight Management Systems. Bangalore, on-site, relocation assistance available.
What you’ll do
- Define and develop system architecture and design for display and navigation systems
- Lead requirements development, validation, verification, and traceability
- Conduct safety assessments, FMEA, FTA, and hazard analyses
- Manage certification activities and compliance with ARP4754A/4761 and DO‑178C/254
- Oversee system integration benches, hardware/software integration, and testing
- Coordinate with cross‑functional teams and present technical reviews to Change Control Boards
- Develop and maintain configuration, change, and risk management processes
- Support planning and execution of system safety requirements throughout the program lifecycle
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (Computer Science, Electronics, Aeronautical, Systems Engineering or related)
- 8-15 years of avionics systems engineering experience
- Proficiency in Systems Engineering lifecycle processes
- Experience with HMI/UI design for flight displays
- Knowledge of SAE ARP4754A and ARP4761 standards
- Familiarity with TSO/ETSO and MOPS compliance
- Hands‑on system integration and verification experience
- Understanding of ARINC 429, 453, 664 protocols
