System Software Engineer III

About the role

Systems Software Engineering team at HPE builds and enhances core software platforms, including operating systems, compilers, networking utilities and databases. The Senior Software Engineer designs enhancements, leads project teams, writes test plans and mentors junior engineers. Bengaluru, India, onsite work model.

What you’ll do

• Designs enhancements, updates, and programming changes for systems software
• Analyzes design and determines coding and integration activities
• Writes and executes testing plans and debugging solutions
• Leads project team of software engineers and development partners
• Collaborates with management and partners on design status
• Represents software systems engineering team in complex projects
• Provides guidance and mentoring to less‑experienced staff

What you’ll bring

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent
• 5-9 years of experience
• Expertise in multiple software systems design tools and languages
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Designing software systems for multiple platforms
• Software systems testing methodology
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
