About the role
Principal Technical Specialist – R&D at Nokia drives architecture and innovation for fiber‑based fixed access networks, leading end‑to‑end design of OLT software platforms. The role shapes product strategy, develops Layer 2 networking solutions, and mentors cross‑functional teams in a hybrid environment across India.
What you’ll do
- Own and drive architecture & development of OLT software platforms
- Design, develop and implement Layer 2 networking solutions
- Collaborate with Product Management to translate customer feedback
- Drive end‑to‑end troubleshooting and resolution of complex telecom software issues
- Provide technical leadership across teams
- Guide design decisions and solve complex system‑level challenges
- Contribute to an agile and fast‑paced development environment
- Foster innovation
What you’ll bring
- 15+ years lead SW developer/Tester in Telecom Access or Core network products
- Strong knowledge in Datacom, L2 forwarding, QoS, VLAN, L2 Protocols
- Programming expertise in C, C++, Python, Go
- Test Automation expertise in Robo, Python
- Knowledge of network processors, packet processing, traffic engineering
- Experience in network element management and data models
- Technical leadership and team mentoring
- Large‑scale solution delivery
