Senior Lead Engineer - Systems

About the role

Collins Aerospace Systems Engineering team drives the development of mission‑critical traffic surveillance systems that enhance global airspace safety. As a Senior Lead Engineer you will lead systems engineering activities, translate requirements into detailed specifications, mentor engineers, and define integration and verification strategies for avionics products. Based in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India with a hybrid work model (remote and onsite).

What you’ll do

• Lead systems engineering activities for traffic surveillance products
• Translate customer and regulatory requirements into system-level specifications
• Provide technical leadership and mentor a team of systems engineers
• Define and execute system integration, validation, and verification strategies
• Develop test plans, procedures, cases, and certification artifacts
• Collaborate with software, hardware, certification, and product teams
• Support certification activities with regulatory authorities and customers
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives

Nice to have

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related STEM field
• 6-9 years avionics systems engineering experience
• 5+ years ARP4754A/B program experience
• Experience with Jama or DOORS for requirements management
• Knowledge of ARINC 429, AFDX, Ethernet or ARINC 615/615A protocols
• Agile development experience using JIRA and Confluence
• Proficiency in Python scripting for engineering tasks
