Associate Data Scientist

About the role

Gartner’s Insights & Product Analytics team seeks an Associate Data Scientist in Gurgaon to convert diverse data into actionable insights for enterprise leaders. The role involves executing high-impact data science projects using Python, LLMs, and NLP to analyze unstructured data and optimize decision support systems. This is a hybrid position based in Gurgaon.

What you’ll do

• Execute large-scale data science projects to extract and visualize insights from structured and unstructured data.
• Develop cutting-edge solutions using Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and Generative AI techniques.
• Innovate in text analytics to interpret complex datasets and deliver impactful recommendations.
• Define standards for evaluation, guardrails, and hallucination control to ensure trustworthy AI.
• Build text analytics and knowledge retrieval capabilities for large-scale unstructured data.
• Enforce best practices in documentation, code reuse, and model lifecycle management.
• Ensure responsible AI practices covering data privacy, IP, safety, and auditability.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to optimize data mining techniques and improve insight accuracy.

What you’ll bring

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field.
• 1-3 years of overall experience in data science, AI, or ML roles.
• Expertise in Python, Data Science, ML/DL/LLMs, and NLP.
• Proficiency in prompt engineering, RAG, and LLM customization techniques.

Nice to have

• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure/AWS) and distributed computing (Spark/Databricks).
• Knowledge of responsible AI practices, privacy, and auditability.
• Hands-on experience with vector databases and advanced statistics.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
